I continually am amazed with mandates around the corner how business owners and DM’s continue to drag their feet on addressing the changes and their employee’s needs. A ‘wait n see’ attitude is not the way to go. Employers have to set the example to their employees when it comes to changing the culture and way of thinking on healthcare – owning it.
I encourage going a step further and give some incentive to your employees for lifestyle changes/accountability to their lives. Offer a quarterly bonus for weight loss or quitting smoking? It’s not rocket science but people have to think differently and many times it start’s with the boss.
